OUR LADY OF SNOWS, PRAY FOR US
Every year, the annual feast of Our Lady of Snows is celebrated on 5th August at St. Joseph's
Metropolitan Cathedral located at Thiruvananthapuram in a colourful and jubilant
atmosphere.
This feast last for three days and is organised by members of Kerala Congregation of
Our Lady of the Snows (KCOLS). The feast commences with flag hoisting ceremony on day 1
followed by Rosary, Litany and high mass for departed souls. On the feast day, the celebration starts
in the evening with Rosary, Litany, Novena to our lady of Perpetual Succour followed by High Mass
for Our Lady of Snows members and their families' procession and benediction. The feast ends with
the issue of Crown and Candle to the feast committee members who will be heading the conduct of
the feast (Feast Presidents) for the next 20 years followed by Eucharistic Celebration, Flag Lowering
and family gathering.
The history of the feast goes back to year 1905 when a small group of family members conducted
the feast and in the year 2023, we are celebrating the 119 th Feast of Our Lady of Snows at the same
church where it was started. From a small group of family members, it has grown to more than 300
families spread across many parts of the world.
